Can I visit Othoni as a day trip from Corfu?
From Agios Stefanos, yes. The boat leaves at 10:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and returns from Othoni at 16:00 the same day — it is the same boat, and it stays in the harbour here until the afternoon. That gives you about four hours on the island, enough for a swim, lunch and a short walk. From Corfu Town it is not realistic: the crossing takes around four hours each way. If you are coming from there, plan to stay the night.
What time do boats leave Corfu for Othoni?
The Corfu Town line departs from the New Port at 08:00, every day except Saturday, and calls at Mathraki and Erikousa on the way. The Agios Stefanos line departs at 10:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Confirm on the day — weather changes things.
What time is the last boat back to Corfu?
The Agios Stefanos line leaves Othoni at 16:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, between 17 June and 13 September 2026. Outside those days and dates you will need the Corfu Town line or a private charter.
Is there an ATM on Othoni?
No. There is no cash machine anywhere on the island, and not everywhere takes cards. Bring enough cash with you from Corfu for your whole stay, and a little more in case the weather keeps you here longer.
What happens if my boat is cancelled?
Strong winds or rough seas can cancel departures with little notice, in both directions. It is part of life here. Keep your return plans flexible, avoid booking a flight for the same evening you are due back, and tell your host — people on the island are used to this and will help you find a bed for an extra night.
When does the ferry season run?
Regular services run from May to October. The Agios Stefanos line runs from 17 June to 13 September 2026. Outside the season, connections are limited, may not run daily, and depend entirely on the weather.
