ABOUT THE ISLAND
Othonoi is small, remote, and proudly unpolished
Greece’s westernmost inhabited island—quiet beaches, simple trails, and an authentic rhythm that hasn’t been built for mass tourism.
A short history and what the island is today
Othonoi (also written Othoni) belongs to the Diapontia Islands, northwest of Corfu.
Life here has long been shaped by the sea, small-scale farming, and close ties with Corfu.
Over time, emigration reduced the permanent population. What remains is a place that still runs on
common sense: seasonality, weather, and community — not convenience.
If you come expecting a resort, you’ll be disappointed.
If you come expecting calm, you’ll understand why people return.
